About

A renovation design company that draws it before anyone builds it

SQ.1 Design Build is a renovation design and planning company based on N Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, working across Sarasota and Manatee County.

We're a local family business. Not a franchise, not a call center with a Sarasota area code. The person who walks your project on day one is the person you'll be dealing with at the final punch list, and our name is on the sign at 7446 N Tamiami Trail.

That shapes how we work more than any process document could. We treat every job like it's our own home — because in a market this size, the work speaks for us long after the project closes out, and the neighbors talk.

Most renovation problems are not construction problems. They are handoff problems — a design that nobody priced, a change nobody documented, a decision made in the field that never made it back to the owner. Design-build removes the handoff. The people who draw your project stay with it through construction, under one contract — so nobody gets to say "that’s not what I drew."

That shows up in three places. Estimates are line-item, so you see labor, materials, and allowances separately instead of one number you have to trust. Changes get priced and approved before the work happens, not discovered on the final invoice. And there is one person answering your questions from the first walkthrough to the last punch-list item.

We work in English and Spanish — not just the sales conversation, but the contract discussion and the daily back-and-forth on site. In this market that matters more than most contractors act like it does.
